Our Mission

Big Love Animal Rescue was built on one simple belief: every dog deserves to be safe, cherished, and deeply loved.

Lisa Arturo founded Big Love Animal Rescue in Valley Village, California, in 2019 after seeing firsthand how many dogs — especially those who were sick, injured, frightened, or pregnant — were running out of time through no fault of their own. She knew she had to create a place where they could feel safe, heal, and get a true second chance.

Today, Big Love is a place where pregnant and nursing moms deliver their puppies safely, where neglected dogs receive medical care and rehabilitation, and where scared dogs learn to trust again. Every animal is treated like family — never a number.

Big Love is powered by an incredible team of fosters, volunteers, transporters, and supporters who show up every day with open hearts. Their compassion and dedication make every rescue possible.
