Board of Directors

Amy Motta is an actress, TV host, producer and director and, most importantly, a huge animal lover. After several street rescues of her own (some more harrowing than others), she knew she wanted to have a bigger impact in the world of animal wellness. Amy joined the board of Big Love Animal Rescue in 2019.

Amy graduated from Arizona State University, where she earned her BFA in Theatre. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two rescue pups, Sammie and Penelope.

Samantha Haas is founder of WagAware, LLC, a charitable company that donates 100% of sales to dog rescue groups. To date, WagAware has donated over $350K of its sales and fundraising proceeds to rescue groups across the US. She joined the BLAR Board of Directors in 2020.

Haas graduated from Harvard Law School in 2001 and has dedicated her studies and pro bono work to helping animals with the law. After 5 years as a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in NYC, she spent 4 years at the Humane Society of the United States as Director of Development (NY) before founding WagAware. She serves on several dog rescue boards. Haas lives in Brentwood with her 6 rescue dogs.

Jill Goularte co-created and produced the “American Rescue Dog Show” for the Hallmark Channel. This show focuses on the perfectly imperfect rescue dogs, who compete in fun categories like Best in Underbite, Best in Snoring, Best in Ears and so many more. Jill was honored with a Humane Society Award for this event which means a lot to her on so many levels.

When Jill is not producing shows, she is transporting dogs, setting up events with Big Love Animal Rescue and looking for donors. Come to an event and you will see her standing under the pink Big Love Animal tent with her red bull horn in hand asking for donations!

Jill is in love with her Westie mix rescue named Jack, who she claims is the best kisser on the planet!
